Paleo Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burgers

Since going Paleo my family has fallen even more in love with our grill. Paleo and grilling just work well together. The past couple of years I've even been stepping outside my grilling comfort zone more and more. Grilling things I'd never thought to have grilled before and trying new flavor combinations. I have to say I'm pretty thrilled with the results of most of my flavor experiments.  In the past I'd never have thought to grill fruit, but it's amazing. Grilling fruit and adding it to traditionally savory dishes? Brilliant. Oh yes, and? New rule: every burger recipe for the rest of forever must contain grilled pineapple. OK, maybe more of a guideline. It's a seriously delicious combination though. This Smoky Grilled Pineapple Burger is always a crowd-pleaser at my house. It's not only Paleo, but Whole30, glutenfree, lower carb, and clean eating friendly. I promise you won't miss the bun!  paleo, grilled pineapple burger, smoky

Banana Cream Pie Protein Smoothie

When it comes to post-workout smoothies I'm looking for a good shot of protein, some clean carbs, and something I don't have to choke down. I'm also looking for something quick and easy. As a blogging, homeschooling, wanna-be-farmering mama ain't nobody got time for complicated post-workout nutrition. I'm lucky enough to sneak in a workout! I think I've come up with the perfect post-workout smoothie recipe! This Banana Cream Pie Protein Smoothie is completely delicious (yes, the name is a perfect description), packed with protein, and the banana adds some great after workout carbs. Plus, it's only 3 ingredients and beyond easy. Did I mention it's really yummy?! Perfect, right? OK, perfect for me, and I am obsessed with it post-workout lately. It's just so quick, easy, and delicious. I think you'll love it to. Post-workout or anytime you want a healthy protein-packed treat. A huge thanks to BiPro for sending protein powder fo

KETO Cocktails: The Lemon Drop

I love a good glass of red wine now and then, I mean it's practically a health food, right? ;) But sometimes I just want a cocktail. I'm all for moderation and having a drink now and then, but I'm just not down with the calorie, carb, and sugar counts of some of my favorites. Seriously, have you ever looked them up? Eek. So, I've set to work at converting my favorite cocktail recipes to be more keto diet friendly! The first cocktail recipe I'm tackling is the keto lemon drop . I used to love these, but haven't had one in years because of the sugar in them. In my early twenties I had a friend who used to make them for me all the time. We would have a shaker full of these, a good dinner, and a chick flick on a weeknight , it was kind of bliss. Her recipe called for so. much. SUGAR though! Looking back I think she may have used a wee bit more sugar than most, but they were really good. I think my keto-ized recipe comes pretty dang close to those delicious

Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie

You might have noticed that I'm slightly smoothie obsessed around these parts lately. While I always love a good smoothie, especially in the warmer months, I'm mainly focused on protein smoothies right now. You see, the new program I'm currently doing has upped the amount of protein I'm eating every day. So, in order to hit my macro-nutrient percentages I'm adding more protein shakes and smoothies to my daily diet. I am definitely aiming for 30 grams of protein per serving these days. Protein smoothies are a quick, easy, and delicious way for me to hit my macros. Especially this one, YUM. I'm definitely loving it post workout lately.  If you're looking to up your protein too you're going to love this Peaches and Cream Protein Smoothie. This smoothie is so quick and easy. Only 3 ingredients, blend, DONE! It's completely creamy and delicious, but still clean, gluten-free, and packed with just over 30 grams of protein per serving. Plus, i

Apple Cinnamon Snickerdoodle Smoothie Bowl

Smoothie bowls are my go to breakfast lately. They're just such a quick and easy way to get some protein, fruit, veggies, and even superfoods (think matcha green tea, beets, berries, greens...) into my mornings. As the weather continues to warm up they will pretty much be a staple for me.  I like to keep my breakfasts simple, quick, and easy. No 20 ingredient smoothie bowls for this girl! I mean, I applaud folks that are awake enough for that in the morning, but that isn't happening over here. Most of my smoothie bowls are 5 ingredients or less. I try to focus on maximum nutrition with minimum ingredients. Eating the same simple things every day doesn't have to be the SAME THING every day though! There's so much you can do with a smoothie bowl. Start with a "milk" of choice (I usually do So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Coconut Milk , So Delicious Unsweetened Vanilla Cashew Milk , or Milkadamia Unsweetened Macadamia Milk ), then add whatev
